What does a Wi-Fi bridge do?
Published on October 11, 2026
A smart lock talks to your phone over Bluetooth. That works well when you are at the door, but Bluetooth only reaches a few metres. If you want more, you need a bridge.
How the signal travels
- Your lock
- Bridge
- Internet
- Your phone
The Bridge sits near your door. It picks up the Bluetooth signal of the lock and passes it on to your Wi-Fi.
What you can do with it
Open remotely
Unlock from the app, even when you are not at home.
Share access
Give someone a digital key and withdraw it again.
Check the log
See when the lock was opened.
